About Sam

Sam Cila is a Retired Staff Sergeant in the US Army. He served with the “Fighting 69th” Infantry Regiment out of New York City and the First Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas. He has also worked in Army Special Operations. Sam served combat tours in Iraq in 2004-2005, and was decorated with awards for valor in combat, to include the Purple Heart. His life took a drastic turn when he was injured on July 4th, 2005. Dedication to team and selfless service has helped Sam attack many challenges. He is an elite-level endurance athlete, 2x member of the USA Para National triathlon team, an Ironman World Championship finisher and a high altitude mountaineer. Sam currently serves as Operations Chief at The Program. The Program offers leadership experiences that uncover a┬áteam’s performance potential through shared adversity.
